Michael Vijuk, a 30 year resident of McHenry County, announced his intent to run for County Board representing District 1. The district includes Fox River Grove, Barrington Hills, Cary, Trout Valley, Lake in the Hills and Algonquin in McHenry County.
Vijuk, a retired educator, believes his experience in business management, contract negotiations and leadership will bring the stability the board is lacking. He also hopes to share his deep understanding of interpersonal communication in a way that brings transparency to families in the area, citing the lack of relevant information currently delivered to voters.
“None of our current representatives are reporting on key issues, bringing this information to voters,” Vijuk said. “Unless someone knows exactly how to navigate a cumbersome county website, it is nearly impossible to know what is going on and how our money is being spent.”
Vijuk is circulating candidate peition forms to gain placement on the primary ballot. He is currently the sole Democratice candidate so far in the March20, 2018 primary race.
